Great piece. You say that it would be unlikely for the Japanese side to have Third Reich vehicles and vice versa and compare it to Soviet vehicles in NY at the height of the Cold War, however Soviet block countries were exporting vehicles globally from the 50's/60's onwards. They might not have made it to North

Here are a couple of photos of my boyhood bedroom wall with requisite car posters............

You wouldn't get away with the crazy assed dog antics some drivers get up to in North America, the idea that someone would think it perfectly acceptable and in no way unsafe to drive with a small dog on their laps is mind blowing.

Excellent list but you missed Marcos ;)

Takes the fun out of it though. Small, light and squeezing power out of a small lump is cool.

No need to swap out the engine, the Skoda 130LR had around 150 bhp and weighed 850kg. One finished 11th on the WRC Acropolis Rally in 1988.

The BBC original, its not their version it is the original version, is very much of its time and very British (being based on a novel written by the former Chief of Staff of the Conservative Party). It's excellent but definitely not a show that will easily cross the Atlantic.

Its not very different from the 2014 118d M Sport I had as a rental in the UK last year. Was very impressed, fast, fun to drive, incredibly frugal and has less CO2 emissions than my parents 3 cylinder Chevy Spark.

Oh, it wasn't that clear as you posted a pic without anything to indicate it was a GTI version just a 108 with some black plastic.

Lovely but not in the same segment

Citroen C1, Pueugot 108 & Toyoto Aygo are all built in the same factory in the Czech Republic. The 108 looks very similar to the rendering you posted.......

Clarkson hated his GT mainly because of its incredibly poor reliability but also because the fuel tank was so small and the MPG so poor he couldn't drive to the Top Gear studios from his home, some 93 miles away, on one tank of fuel.

You don't need two sets of tires, you just need a set of all weather tires. I've had Nokian WRG tires on my current Sante Fe and previously owned Explorer. They are designed to be used all year round and are snow rated the same as winter tires.

There were restrictions post WWII - size of military, large ocean going vessels, nuclear capabilities, etc. Most are not applicable but there were new ones agreed during negotiations for reunification, as well as reaffirming some still in place from the WWII agreement.

Doesn't change the fact that the F35 VSTOL variant is not ready to enter service due to numerous issues.

The Harriers have not been replaced because the replacement is a pile of junk that needs fixes before it can enter service.

Most British racetracks are in fact exWWII airfield perimeter roads

I'm not sure but Germany is/was under military restrictions to limit the size and composition.

Bill is full of Canadian awesome sauce but this is never going to happen
