The 130LR was a Group A homologation special, not an ordinary Skoda model. I remember seeing one do demo runs at the Skoda importers offices on UK members club open day. It was a fire breathing beast! 130hp with a weight of 850kg, I'd love to have a blast in one.

Typical BMW owners, parking like douchebags ;)

I swear Funyuns are laced with crack they are so addictive!

It's not editing, the A40 battle the two Jags for the whole race. The Jags would pull away on the straights but the A40 made up the gap under breaking and through the corners. Towards the end of the race the Jags started to loose grip and breaks allowing the A40 to grab the lead and win. The full race is available on

that's one written off car, probably worth £500 at the most and he will have caused more than that in damage

They were fun to watch but I preferred the A40 fighting for the lead with the two Jaguar saloons........it eventully won out.

You sir, require a trip to an Optometrist

Beat me to it. The Mazdaspeed 6 Wagon is pure pron!

Don't forget the Lola's, McLarens & two Chinooks

Great race, the whole thing is on the Goodwood You Tube channel. Amazing to see the air condensing entering the carb trumpets on the McLaren.

Group C was amazing, the experience of seeing the Jag's & 962's at full tilt at a Silverstone 6hrs race in the mid 80's, is seared into my brain.

Schweeeeet!

Just goes to show not all built in Mexico were poor, however they do have that reputation.

That's the difference between Mexican built Golf/Jetta's of that era and European built versions. I had a Skoda Octavia vRS, based on the same platform, and it was incredibly reliable and well built.

I actually saw one of these in the wild at the weekend, either that or it was a morphine hangover trip from my stay in hospital the previous week.

If you're talking E30's then the one you really really don't want is the 316 with all of 89 bhp!

Hatchback, not a wagon

The Lexus IS Sport Cross had less as well

I think the Lexus IS Sport Cross had less too

Even the hot hatch XR2i was quite dull
