That’s not bad. However, I’ll stick with my 5.0 F150, which still averages about 17.5 to 18.. can’t really complain.

RIP, a true racing legend.
Looks horrible! Even worse than the new Chevy, which also looks bad. I’m also not a fan of the updates to the F150, however, they still look much better than the other updated trucks IMO. The Tundra is outdated as hell, but still sells well, because Toyota.
Good article. When I did warranty work for Ford, we were more than fair with most warranty claims. Sometimes dealers fail to submit the claims, and sometimes there are a-holes who like to make it tough to get prior approval, but generally, if we couldn’t prove that the damage was directly caused by the part, it was…
It’s all about having mechanical sympathy.
That plant has some of the lowest quality control out of all the US Ford plants, I’m not really surprised.
My buddy has one of these and averages 11.5 mpg.. my 5.0 F150 with more HP averages 17.1. The Toyota’s are good trucks, I just can’t believe the money they are going for both new and used.
I have a 16 5.0, it’s the first vehicle I’ve owned that I’ve been satisfied with the power level. It runs great, and averages 17.5, pretty impressive!
Wow that is one ugly truck. It’s almost like they spend time trying to find ways to make an uglier truck than the current generation.
It’s not that they weren’t “making enough money off of it” to update it and keep it in production, it was because that was no easy way to update it to meet newer safety and fuel economy regulations.
and that’s only with 215 hp and about 270 ft lbs of torque.. I’d love to drive a coyote swapped one.
It’s never too late to give it a try! I’m up in Fort Collins, btw.
Donut media makes entertaining content, but it’s often inaccurate.
Nothing better than a V8 revved to 8k rpm turning the tires to dust.. that was a helluva burnout.
I was just waiting for the wreck...
I live in Colorado too, and all we work on are Subaru’s. Not sure if it’s because there are so many or because they are junk...or both.. head gasket issues, CVT issues, etc. etc. I’d rather drive a Ford any day. Had a customer with an Outback, and the original trans lasted 28k miles..great quality.
I bet that’s a fast, fun track to drift.
Thank you for writing this article. I really wish more people would support their local oval tracks, and all tracks for that matter.
It also has Jamie Davis!
Unfortunately, 41k is going to get you an XLT.
