The under-7-seconds-to-60 rule is one I live by. When you’re at the helm, rowing your own gears, 0-60 in 6.8 feels PLENTY quick.
Agreed. I’ve driven an E46 M3 and an ‘03 Mustang GT, and neither is particularly fast by today’s standards, but they felt dangerously quick. In reality, anything that does 0-60 in less than 7 seconds feels pretty quick. Under 8 is plenty for daily use.
I think a lot of folks honestly get their conception of “quick” and “fast” and “slow” from games like Forza, and have only the most abstract idea of what a car that is quick in the real world actually feels like.
