Shut up, Rich. Go away.

1. It’s a reasonable assumption given what you posted.

What a shitty human being you are. Just shameless.

Signed up for Kinja specifically to tell you that this article and this exchange prompted me to donate $100 as well. Thank you for calling this simple action to my attention.

Then act like you can fucking read, you simpleton.

Eh, put that thumb back up your ass, Stig.

natural gas pipeline =/= oil pipeline

That’s fine. All the destroying is being done in your name, citizen of the USA. You don’t have to be there to be partially responsible :)

this is a lot like the #notallmen argument. just because you personally consider yourself a good person, it’s necessary to acknowledge that the dinner you’re making for your family and the life you lead is in many ways built on the backs of these people.

The shaming tone attracts trolls, too.

If there was a gif for that I would have inserted it instead, lol

I get that in general, I’m just not sure the criticism is warranted against Davis. They’re extrapolating from one quote how she feels about her entire experience... I don’t think that’s possible.

Yeah, that just seemed to me like Kristin Davis is a really loving mom and her daughter’s going to grow up knowing she’s valued and important.

Yeah the snark is unnecessary and that line in particular is flat out wrong. There’s no indication that it took that long for Davis to recognize her privilege; in fact, she specifically cites becoming a mother to a black daughter as what opened her eyes.

I keep forgetting that these writers are essentially bloggers, and not actual journalists. If they want to admonish a woman for worrying about her daughter, they should at least explain why. They don’t have to be unbiased since this is, again, a blog. Just elaborate on the snark instead of being sneaky about it.

It is needlessly harsh. There are lot of white parents who have children who are POC as a result of interracial relationships or adoption. And it makes sense that those parents are concerned for their child’s safety.

Right?? For a feminist site, the writers sure do like to take catty swipes at women.

She’s not allowed to acknowledge her white privilege and feel afraid for her black daughter = says another white woman with privilege.

Agree. Wow, is it not ok for her to adopt and worry about her child and encourage her? Snark where snark is due, please.

No. Absolutely nothing
