But I agree with your opening salvo: Brennan’s is one masterful tweet. 

Ah. I just see the level of discourse across the spectrum: Trump-tweets; debates between Dem/GOP talking heads; Fox News ranting at the wind; demagogues tilting at windmills; incoherent monologues from policy makers - and ‘eloquent’ is rarely the word which leaps to mind.

I share your thoughts on this. Nonetheless, I look forward to reading Comey’s words, and understand his viewpoints, on the world, the FBI, governance and leadership, and possibly some catty remarks about the melted Creamsicle in the oval office.

And despite the risk profile, it doesn’t terrify me. This is partly because I’m convinced I could “manage the risk” and “make the right choices”, which is an inherent part of the arrogance of being a climber.
