Worse than distracted driving?

That is likely correct. If that “citation” is real, it likely was created by a UAW member. The “foreign” is code for non-union. It’s UAW protecting their own.

But this is exactly what you get with no competition. If you sell all of them that you can make, why make it cheaper? And they don’t depreciate much so it looks like they are not, in fact, overpriced. Competition might (might) change this.

Factory 4.56's is the big news here.

Since it’s a factory package, I wonder what this would do to the EPA numbers. The number one complaint of any Jeep Buyer is the lift and tires. I view this as an arms race that will force Jeep to finally give owners a factory option they would actually buy instead of modding as soon as they drive it off the lot.

Also?
I forgot to mention that this article ROCKS.
Seriously.
I love the deep dive into the tech and the whys and the wherefores.

Mad respect for your responses here-it’s so cool you took the time. I like the practical measured approach you take to doing what you do.

I hear what you are saying, and you are certainly not wrong.
I did this trip for my own personal enjoyment, where-as a lot of locals are just trying to get by.
I have to say the longer I was in Africa the more I connected with the people, and they were always shocked when I would jump out in knee deep mud to help push

Repairs, of course. Weird experiences the car survived. Things you’ve done to make the car work for you. Finding gas or parts in the middle of nowhere...

The whole point is that if you don’t have big tires, you can’t break axle shafts because you can’t get enough traction.
When was the last time you heard of a stock Jeep breaking drive line components? ... and I should add there that obviously if you go to moab and drive with your foot on the floor you can break

I’m curious to hear about modifications that will increase reliability of the driveline, engine, etc. ?

In over 100k miles through 55 countries around the world I never had a major failure, and in fact I still drive my “Africa Jeep” every single day, even in Canadian winters. It’s got 190k miles on it now, never a

I was exactly the same - going to work every day for years and I somehow managed to spend all my money week to week.
Then I decided I didn’t want that to be my entire life, so I made some big changes to my life. I walked to work every day, no eating out, no cell phone, no TV, no buying anything new, and slamming every

I’m not a great mechanic by any stretch, but my Dad taught me to go slow and be careful. If a bolt isn’t threading in nicely with my fingers I back it out, clean the threads with a wire brush, have a really good look at everything then try again.
Slow and steady, and the knowledge that you’re 10,000 miles from parts

You’re seriously telling the guy who actually pulled it off in a Jeep without any trouble, that he did it wrong?

This is the best content I have seen on Jalopnik in a long time.

It seems the 75% of the F-150s, Silverados/Sierras, and Rams have a crew cab /5.5' bed these days.

yes and no. i’ve seen lots of those videos too but remember there are about 350M people in this country. how many interactions DON’T end up with some cop being an asshole?  lots.

a class or check your local fire department or maybe even children’s hospital. We had a free check by our local FD years ago and the biggest take away was I didn’t have my car seats in tightly enough. Really need to put your knee into the seat and yank the straps. It was pretty eye opening that it wasn’t nearly as

Stuff like this is a daily reminder that I need to learn how to swim.
