the reason is technological, not narrative. Kojima wanted someone who was more experienced with visual acting, not just voice acting, to do the facial mocap.

I think the biggest issue is the sheer distance involved. If he travels in a straight line with all the fuel he has left, even if he's only off by a few degrees from the nearest star he could still be left in the middle of nowhere

Someone can correct me here but as I understand it the issue is that he lacks the fuel to make a jump (that is, not supercruise but a much faster direct jump) into a known system.

Buyer beware seems the more relevant point here than “THIS PUNISHES INNOCENT CUSTOMERS”.

Do you really think Epic can let this become a precedent?

It’s Epic’s right to sue, and any problems arising from that is solely on the shoulders of the organizers. Letting the organizers get away just because they might not end up refunding as many people is probably the worse course of action, since we are now just trusting them to do the right thing at their own expense.

It also stopped two more shows and presumably more from happening. Or maybe they would be Tetris 99 Live, or Anthem Live, or whatever the newest fad with the youths is Live.

I hope people don’t all start deciding to do full one-way trips with the hope that Fuel Rats will bail them out.

Underemployment is a problem here in the US too. Politically it is aligning the left and right toward authoritarianism, which should be concerning for those who grew up appreciating liberty, rule of law, and self-determination by representation.

Paladins isn’t the best model for monetization, but at the very least it feels fair. New event skins usually cost around $7-10, but come with a collection of other perks. Every day everyone gets their own “deal of the day” which bundles a bunch of old cosmetics for characters they play at a ~70% discount.

I genuinely blame Fortnite for this, correct me if a game before Fortnite had junk content with a high pricetag. I haven’t played in about a year, but there were $20 skins, $10 gliders, etc.

Epic set the precedent for this, and now we’ll have to deal with it forever.

huh?

Would this have played better if the devs had’t accidentally leaked what was going to happen?

Would this have played better if the devs had’t accidentally leaked what was going to happen? I mean, it sucks that the whole thing was pre-destined to fail, but the devs trying to incorporate the event into the game’s lore is pretty cool. They could’ve just flat out said, “No, that was a mistake and we’re patching it

Obligation chocolate more means “friends, family, and co-workers chocolate”. You’re as much obligated to give giri chocolates out as you’re obligated to buy someone a birthday present. It shows that you appreciate someone but not in a romantic way.

Actually the reason why women give men chocolate on Valentines Day in Japan is largely due to a mistranslation in a marketing campaign for chocolate. After that it just became a thing.

Eh, like any holiday, it’s just incentive to go out and spend money. Without them, the economy would collapse. So do your part in the helping the economy and buy your sweetie some damn chocolates! 😁

If you dont like it, you shouldnt feel bothered with that. I dont like it too but I appreciate the meaning of the day, it is a day to remember we should love instead of hate, if comercial or not, let it to ppl to decide.. you are free to chose.

On Valentine’s Day in Japan, there is also a practice of “giri” (obligation) chocolate, with women feeling compelled to gift their male co-workers.

Y’know, whether it’s serious or a gag, this strikes me as being the more public version of the folks who go around on Valentine’s Day wishing everyone within earshot a “happy Singles Awareness Day (the attendant acronym just makes the whole thing hilarious).”

If it’s a joke, hey, that’s cool (and really goddamned funny

Also, although it’s pure marketing gimmick, it’s kind of a good thing they do this in Japan. In most cases it’s expected for the man to make the first move, this gives an excuse and encourages women to be a bit more forthcoming and take the initiative.
