I agree. While I could admire some of the thematic and tonal choices made, especially for the ending, I just couldn't enjoy the book. Also they killed Prim which I was mad about. I mean she killed off younger sister surrogate Rue in the first book, so I assumed that actual younger sister Prim was safe.

I was originally going to make a comment about the Tauntaun's being one of the uglier Star Wars creatures from the OT, but the more I think about it, that's not really true. Now that I'm thinking about it, I can't really think of any non humanoid creatures that aren't just plain ugly.
