I enjoyed the book, but those are all absolutely correct points. I thought the same thing about Watney, but the problem solving was cool enough to make up for it, even if the prose and characterization was severely lacking and even downright grating at times.

The Chaos a Walking trilogy is just so good. Mayor Prentiss is just such a great antagonist.

Just curious, what podcast?

I read Summerland in sixth grade. It was enjoyable, but it was really weird and I'm sure I missed a lot.

Don't know if you've ever heard of it but viscera cleanup detail is basically the videogame version of what you're talking about. You essentially play as a space janitor cleaning up after the bloody battles against aliens.

I'm disappointed he didn't take the opportunity to make the twelfth question "Fucking magnets, how do they work?"

While I agree with your point, "I posted a rant on Facebook" really is a phrase that everyone should do their best to avoid.

Tracer Bullet has a far better understanding of noir than everyone mentioned above combined.

From the historical perspective, yes, people realize that. While I think the general public has a better understanding of the sociology and psychology that can allow people to believe such things, there still is this belief that Hitler was evil incarnate with powers of persuasion this world has never again seen.

Neon Bible is the album I actually got into them on so its holds a special place for me. Also I just like the general somber cathedral aesthetic the album has.

Other than one or two songs, I didn't listen care that much for Reflektor at first. I gained a new appreciation for it after seeing the sings live. It's still my least favorite of the albums but just because the other three are so good.

Yeah, his career really went downhill after his win for Snow Dogs.

Yeah I think you pegged my problem with it. Standing in its own, TTG is a great zany hangout comedy with superheroes. I've always enjoyed the slightly more dramatic animated superhero shows and characters going from menacing and well rounded to simply quirky was a bit too jarring.

If I'm entirely honest, Teen Totans Go! Is a pretty good show, but it isn't the older Teen Titans And that diminished my enjoyment greatly.

Can we have please turn Indiana Jones into a sort of Quantum Leap spinoff?

Fuck if there's a Princess Bride remake…

Okay I agree with you that DCP's comment was somewhat of a false equivalency, but dang that was needlessly harsh.

My bad, typing on mobile, put my phone away in the middle of typing and must have sent accidntally.

I'm one! Boy what coincidence that 2 out of the 3 are on the same website!
