It’s coming out sooner than SMTV and the SMTIII re-release, and those got way more focus in the direct.

The game’s being published by XSEED in NTSC-U, which is owned by Marvelous, the game’s NTSC-J and PAL publisher. Even if the ownership rights are still held by the developer Edelweiss, Marvelous and XSEED could still easily coordinate promotional elements like trailers.
Swing and a miss, dude.
The entire direct was about previously announced games and they said so beforehand. So no, don’t think people would have complained.
Yeah that first side scrolling rpg/farming thing looked legit, loved that art style
That first game looked really awesome! I would totally play it.
You’re correct that what’s new here is that this is a “Partner Showcase.” I’ve corrected our post. Though even that is semantics in that they’ve done indie showcases before, and therefore have done Direct-like events that don’t feature their own games.
So it’s only 10 minutes long, there’s no info on first-party games, and no new games will be announced. One the one hand, at least they’re setting expectations this time. On the other hand, they sure know how to disappoint.
I’m with you. It’s like:
No, that makes you ignorant that it’s a dogwhistle tactic.
No, there’s no problem. It’s a really dumb thing to be mad about. It’s about as significant as a non-christian saying “Jesus Christ” when they stub their toe. Who fucking cares?
So therefore the only way they can act is evil. They have to rob, steal, rape...in order to survive.
This is an interesting point; I also noticed that the tone of this piece is much more willing to forgive than these sort of articles usually are. I can’t tell whether it’s that Gomez is just less obnoxiously catty than Hughes or Barsanti, or whether it’s buying into the fallacy that Black people can’t be racist (and…
It’s interesting to me to watch how AV Club writers handle these sorts of things. Usually for this kind of deal, I’d expect them to go all in on how terrible and indefensible Cannon and his statements were, linking back to their last three thinkpieces already on the subject, and tearing into the Masked Singer for not…
I guess you don’t like puzzle games?
Dragon King asking to sit only so he could stand to make his big announcement cracked me up. That was great.
This remains a consistently impressive show. The villains have all been entertaining, even though they wasted multiple perfect Grundy opportunities this week (again).
Network TV is still available with antennas in places so they're not SOL with cord cutters. Cable companies are fucked first and foremost and they fucking deserve it.
Do you think people are buying this to pretend to play NES games?
Dr. Ito’s response to Cindy screaming in a cell - “Turn on the gas. It always calmed her as a baby.” - is one of the most fucked up lines I’ve heard in a long time.
