Comments like yours tilt me to be honest. Your like 1 cm away from saying the game is targeting queer women. And the game 100% in no way at all even points in that general direction. Ellie’s sexual orientation has legit ZERO to do with what is going on within the “main” story of the game. If she was queer or straight

to be fair

I assume Metacritic is like RT in that a high score doesn’t mean the game is a masterpiece.

Given the general reactions I’ve seen around the net the last 24 hours, I don’t think that’s the case this time. I also don’t think it’s purely homophobes or gamergaters either. The first game resonated emotionally with a lot of people and it’s hard to watch characters you grew to love outright suffering.

The reliance on Metacritic was a joke a decade ago (far worse given back then it gained note for being why Obsidian staff didn’t get a bonus for New Vegas) but this reminds me more of Mass Effect 3 where that got perfect reviews even if said reviews mentioned game issues (how can you give something a perfect score if

Good luck with that utopian idea of not needing law enforcement.  I’ve met my fellow Americans.  I fear them more than I fear the police.

Been watching xQc stream this today. Holy crap, talk about a complete reversal from the first game. It’s so goddamn boring. No one is remotely likable. The Abby gameplay section (about 10 hrs long) is you trudging around as Joel’s murderer, getting her backstory. Only problem is, they didn’t bother to make her even

If these characters quit their jobs, what would happen? They’d be replaced by other cops, who would presumably be worse. When a mentally ill person with a knife starts threatening suicide and scaring people around them, will the new social workers who previously staffed the 99 be called? No, cops will be called who

Jeez. Defensive much?

Jesus fucking christ, get over yourself. It’s a comedy TV show - it’s not there to be a documentary, or to force us to be better people. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia has characters who are truly horrible people but I don’t see you demanding that all bars be closed.

The reaction to the spoilers was already quite... emotional, let’s say. I am no longer interested in the game, but I look forward to seeing the fiery discourse that is sure to erupt as soon as people begin finishing this game. It would probably be about as entertaining as the ME3 debacle if it hadn’t been for the

On a side note, I’m particularly annoyed that they lied about not having to kill any dogs except by choice. They intentionally made a misery simulator; why lie about that little detail? The misleading marketing is really baffling to me.

I cancelled my pre-order after I read the Kotaku and Polygon reviews. They confirmed for me that the leaks were true (which was already obvious of course) and that “context” was only going to make the over the top brutality even more pointless. Thank you guys for actually taking a critical look at the game.

I even forgot that “Hob” was a rival considering how little competition there was with him.

Despite everything, the show refuses to condemn policing as a whole. The system is bad and some cops are bad, it says, but the idea of policing can be redeemed if you just put the right people in charge. The good cops. Many other shows refuse to admit that the system is bad. They’re wrong, but at least they’re

Cool, more cancel culture.

Please don’t ruin Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Have the discussion about the incompetence of the united statian police force as much as you want, but do not try to ruin a harmless source of joy.

I really feel bad for Nathan. Living in a world, where you want shows to be cancelled, because they bring joy to others’ lives, as they do not reflect the real world, and not everyone on the show is a bad person, but full of positivity. This is why cannot have nice things. Because people, like Nathan.

We get it you hate cops 🙄

My uncle is retired NYPD. Got a little sick from working 9/11 cleanup. He is so eternally grateful that in his 20 years he never had to defend himself or others by drawing his weapon.
