DC’s mass transit IS horrible. That’s why people drive into work from the suburbs instead of taking the Metro.

Sooo, is this him?

A couple of weeks ago I had some randoms come in while i happened to be at the hosting desk. It was a sunday, and IM CATHOLIC BUT I WAS STILL LIKE, OH GOD NO when they started off with, “So we noticed you aren’t in church right now...”

So, I’m happy for this woman, but frankly I’d rather Christians just stopped writing in “I give God 10%, why do you get 15%” and leaving tiny Bibles in place of tips. This is the real world, and you don’t get forgiven for being shitty to countless servers just because you were really really nice to one.

It’s good that they gave the driver a cunk of cash as I’m sure it’s needed, but like others I have my doubts that this stunt will translate to the individual members of the congregation consistently tipping decently.

This kind of stunt very often goes along with prosperity gospel theology, which is pretty destructive stuff. Maybe that’s not their theology but if it is we really don’t want to celebrate them.

I love that the gave a large tip, but this kind of stunt often goes along with what is called the prosperity gospel, which basically says if you are poor it’s because you didn’t believe hard enough. It has no real biblical basis. It’s pretty destructive crap.

“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.”

I have a sick feeling that these men who have no idea how to find a clit also have no idea that a hymen isn’t a membrane of skin that completely covers your cervix until a penis comes along and pops it like a balloon. If it was, “virginal” women could never have a period or any discharge.

I’m going to quote Ali Wentworth here (because I read her book for some reason) And honestly this should be true for both women and men.

Red Flag: any man who insists on knowing how many men you’ve slept with.

As a dude, this whole double standard is puzzling as hell.

I love my bras, too!

Well, in one case a woman is choosing to wear a thing that makes her feel comfortable and supported, and in another case, a man is telling her she has to take it off. Does that make the distinction clearer?

I think I’ve got Shitty Apology Bingo!

Rubio: Absolutely. If you go to one of these centers, young women are provided with very few options. In many places, they’re not told anything about, for example, adoption services that might be available to them. In essence, you come in and it’s already predetermined. This is what this place does. It provides

I’m pretty sure calling in dead is a Massachusetts thing, because I’ve seen it happen at two very different jobs.

I know I’ve joked about it before. After a particularly hard day “I might call in dead tomorrow.” When the schedule is tight, especially on a weekend. “Anybody who calls in on Saturday had better be calling in dead.”

It’s bullshit. If Jehovah’s Witnesses can’t lobby for health insurance to not cover blood transfusions because that’s an infringement of their religious freedom, this dude can’t argue that coverage of BC infringes on his religious freedom. It’s also against a lot of religions to blaspheme, does that mean the freedom

Perhaps these things are too complex for me but if an insurance company wants to pay for contraceptives, what right does Right-Wing Stereotype No. 1001 here have to tell them that they can’t? Or is he suing because the government is forcing the insurance company to cover contraceptives and he’s suing on behalf of the
