N64 loading times were fast. Carts in general were fast. Hard drives? Slow. Here we’re seeing NVMe with last gen game. I don't think PS5 titles will load like this but this is going to be a huge improvement over using a HDD regardless and especially since every single dev can optimize for it

Actually loading on the n64 was pretty fast and non-existent in many cases. One of the justifications of Nintendo using cartridges. Not so with the PSX.
load times actually mater. A lot of game design currently is working around loading zones and texture pop in. Eliminating that is actually quite interesting from a dev standpoint, and changes how levels and textures are designed.
