I have to wonder if many players really care, or maybe just see him as an amusing sideshow. I have to imagine someone would have, ahem, ended his career if he really was seen as a problem. Or maybe that perfectly timed crosscheck or head down hit is just around the corner.

I’ve been to Pizza Huts in Germany (yeah yeah) where reservations are recommended on weekend evenings, and at times there was a line waiting for tables.

I think the league definitely supports it, maybe to the point where there’s a tacit/secret directive for nobody to really run him or go after him, as he seems to take little on-ice flack for his antics.  

IMO Stastny definitely added a little something that could be called with discretion. So make the crosscheck a simple minor and give something to him as well. End result would be the same, a loss of the game and series, maybe with less scapegoating and whining by VGK “fans” and historically incompetent NHL leadership.

Play before it was bad as well by choking up the series lead.

VGK blew a game lead as well as a 3-1 series lead.  Bud, they were done before this call.

Nobody is saying it wasn’t the wrong call. It was overdone. We all know officiating changes during the playoffs, it has only been this way for a few hundred years. But I suspect few nonpartisan voices will claim the bad call decided the game.
