The problem is we have no investment in Caspere (the friendly ghost) or anyone close to him. In Chinatown we were introduced to Evelyn Mulwray early and so we cared about finding her husband's killer, but here he's just some guy with a huge porn collection.

I can't help but feel this series could have been edited down to about four episodes total. Most of it so far has just been wheel-spinning until the plot finally kicks in over half the way through.

Just refer to her as 'her' regardless. It's both more accurate, as being transgender means your physical sex when you're born is the opposite of your actual gender and transitioning just changes it to the way it should have been in the first place, and simpler.

Alex Rider should have stopped at five books in my opinion. The first five had enough variety to keep it interesting (and a fitting, if bloody dark ending), but after that they became increasingly formulaic, like its inspiration did after a while.

Surely the fetishization of persecution in a Christian movie wouldn't be that unusual, as that seems to be a central part of many Christian's beliefs, especially considering how insanely well Passion of the Christ did at the box office.
