A bit preachy, a bit too poetic, Laura is way more into this show than I am and I have watched and reviewed every episode.

In Wahlberg’s defence the 9/11 story came up not because he is an asshole (which he is), he had a ticket on AA Flight 11 which he cancelled at the last minute which crashed into the tower, not United 93. Dowd acts like he didn’t immediately apologize, which he did profusely. Is it so terrible I get that when you’re a…
Well I like this movie.
Are you serious? I don’t get this protest argument, I mean c’mon a $9 million dollar budgeted movie where one of the co-leads is indian doesn’t really count as a major studio effort/
Your such a loser. Everyone who says this.
“Nooooo. Not the dog! I have no objection to seeing human beings slaughtered but I draw the line at dogs. My heart just can’t take it.”
Fuck you loser. I hope the dog dies the most violent death in the history of film.
How do you know that when box office records only go back to 1982?
Read the article title and thought “oh boy”, scrolls to comments after reading and my main take is these articles don’t really do women any favours. We are this close to achieving true equality among men and women and women can’t help but put themselves down and further sub-divide between white women and black women.…
Well you guys were assholes to have revealed Blade Runner 2049's twist anyway, your thinking that it doesn’t significantly negate any positive effect is the exact same kind of thinking the studios have in marketing their movies so you’re a total hypocrite Dowd. I would have enjoyed Interstellar more had IV not opened…
Dear Frankie
I like The F Word. I think it makes up for the lack of Comedy with heart and good performances, and Adam Driver’s scenes are funny enough to add comedy to the mix even if nothing else lands aside from Rafe Spall falling out a window in an absurdly broad moment.
I saw this for the first time recently, but would say that even though it might have been good for its time the party scene is excellent, and Hepburn does belie some hidden tragedy, I would’ve preferred Monroe as she she would have more easily conveyed the shallow exterior. George Peppard is annoying.
(Interestingly, I would say the same thing generally happens to Marilyn Monroe, except in the specific case of Breakfast At Tiffany’s, where she’s held up as the platonic ideal of an actor truly capable of tackling Holly Golightly—a sort of “I didn’t like Hillary, but I would’ve voted for Elizabeth Warren” scenario.)…
Jack Reacher 2 gives it a run for his money.
How do we account then for movies I was very surprised to learn he wasn’t a producer on like Edge of Tomorrow or Oblivion. I know McQuarrie was a writer on the former but for a $178 million dollar film does that account for a lot? Those two as much action movie as they are seem like big risks.
It’s under-analyzed I would have liked to see Oblivion included here for the spoiler filled reason that it turns out Tom Cruise is a clone of himself, and his character sacrifice at the end is one of only two movies the other being collateral where he dies in the end.
I remember seeing this movie in theatres and was surprised. This isn’t Nathan’s kind of movie. It’s a lot of fun.
Christopher McQuarrie said in an interview I think it was with The AV Club recently “As I was directing this I was thinking; man I feel sorry for the next sonofabitch hired to direct the next mission: impossible” “turns out the joke’s on me.
I think I’d give it a B- but Dowd was on the right track. Infinity War has uncommonly bad acting for the series, is horribly based and funny enough is an exercise in limited resources.
I just came back from it. Weirdly I liked it better than the overrated first probably because I saw this one in theatres and IV and AA lowered my expectations significantly. I hated finally deciding to tell a woman to turn her phone off when she flipped it on for the FOURTH time during the climax of the film. This…
“Offensive though the video may be, nobody is actually offended by it.”
Can’t we responsibly remove the partisanship and judge this on its own terms. It does us no good comparing garbage to garbage. How many strikes has this been for Dan Harmon? I think Donald Glover is overrated, and by all accounts I thought he was…
