Sync3 is VASTLY better. My wife’s car has it as well and I use it mostly for CarPlay as well. She refuses to use it with her phone, but she hasn’t had any problems using the factory system thankfully. I just don’t want to pay $150 to update the maps.

Sounds about right. I’ve seen a lot of “off-roading” with the navigation too, where it would be just off the side of the road you were on, and if you went over a side road or over a highway, it would latch to that and try to reroute you. 

It’s pricey, but worth it.

The first-gen of Sync wasn’t bad if you consider the technology back then. It was MyFord Touch that caused a ton of headaches. It either worked perfectly or it would crash spectacularly. There was no middle ground.

About 5 years ago, I was on my way to work and was caught behind a trash truck making its weekly trip. Not a big deal, right? No, this was on a 55 mph two-lane road AND on a blind corner.

I’d be all over that Cavalier in a heartbeat.

This picture is giving me PTSD. Did this back in 2008 with my buddy from Orlando to Pittsburgh. First 4 hours were driving through a tropical storm. He had to floor it just to keep it at 70 mph. Then we somehow got lost on a windy two-lane mountain road in God’s Country WV, which the sedated chihuahua we had to take…

Literally any vehicle if there’s a halfway decent public transportation system set up in said city. I never understand people owning cars in NYC or DC. It makes absolutely zero sense.

You’d only buy this thing if you had one growing up and want to relive your best years, or want something new to take to Radwood. Other than that, this is double the price it should be.

I find that to be all Hondas from that era. They were all rock hard and flat, save for the Si’s and the S2000. 

You just have to get the bolsters to “break in”. I.e. sit on them and bend them out. After that, I found them to be comfortable for my, uh, voluptuous hips. The problem was that after a few hours, no amount of fat would protect your ass from fatigue.

My set up from 2006 to 2011, when I got a Sirius Radio adapter and switched to that. A lot of people harped about the quality of these things, but I never had an issue with sound/clarity. 

I still have both. 

REALLY can’t wait to fly later this week, to of all places, Florida.....

I do and I don’t. I want to drive it more, but a rear facing car seat doesn’t fit in it very well. On the other hand, it’s nice to not tear it up daily on the highway with having a work car, as well as having to pay $4.50/gallon for gas.

I think it would be cool as hell if someone took one of these and put modern internals in them to make it a functional phone. 

The right berm was already taken by the SUV and the bus. If we went left off the road, the truck probably would’ve caught the drainage ditch and flipped the truck and trailer out into the road, hitting the bus and the other vehicles.

Letting it sit. Thankfully nothing has really gone wrong with my ST since it’s no longer my daily (other than a wheel bearing failing and having to replace the battery after only 19 months). But using your work car to drive the family around in takes precedence over the now “weekend car”.

More specifically, it was girthy. That’s what I was surprised about. Maybe it’s just the exterior styling, but it looked a lot wider than a Model S.
