@Goodnightbabytron: Personally, I don't have a moral compunction about downloading books I own in paper format. I also feel justified in liberating my books from DRM so I can be sure of being able to read them again. Of course, many consumers don't know how to do this. It's easy but many people find it intimidating.

@headc4se: Yep. You can get Overdrive books on there with a little questionably-legal jiggery pokery but most folks aren't comfortable doing stuff like that.

@talkingstove: I don't think ebook readers will ever reach mp3 type popularity. Don't get me wrong. I love mine, but I read a lot. Most people just don't. Occasional readers might go for a tablet where they can do a lot of other things besides reading but I don't think many of them would go for an e-ink reader unless

@Skreenname: Maybe they're going to be adding a tablet to their line up soon.

@espinha: Yeah, I really prefer the distinctive lines of the old Droid. This looks so generic. I'm glad they changed the keyboard, though.

@Eulatos: Personally I like (and own) both. I believe in the right tool for the job. I spend most of my time using Ubuntu, though. The PC-phobes I know are people who use Macs for work or school and don't use PCs at all. I actually know quite a few of them.

@Paper-Cut: I think it's a bit exaggerated though. The last time I priced a MBP against a similar spec on a PC laptop, the difference was more like $500. Of course the MBP was thinner, lighter, had longer battery life and the build quality was better.

@GhostAmongMen: Yep. I could do that on a smaller monitor but then it has to be much closer. That makes it harder to share with other people.

@Emperor_was_a_jerk: Well, if the browser or app was the tiny window I doubt you'd be able to read the text from your couch. I doubt the decision had anything to do with their opinions of priority.

@Knuckleguise: I think the idea is that you could use your phone for that. At least an Android phone.

@comodidit: From the pictures on Amazon, it looks like there's only one slot for the notepad.

@wætherman: Well, I suppose you could take the notebook out when you didn't need it but I have to agree. I prefer the clippy thing. Plus I'm right handed so I would want the notepad on the right. Using the clippy thing and a few extra slots for the back of the notepad would make this ideal.

@Jonathan Parent: There are two different products in the article. One is a charger (Valet), the other is a device that lets you see energy use on all sorts of electronic devices (Insight). It is in no way limited to just portable re-chargable devices.

I've used PDANet. I was in a hurry and it was the fastest solution.

@Devryn: WinMo 6.1 has tethering built in. Most providers disable it because they want to charge you extra but you can enable it with a registry tweak.

@ahbi: I just don't get this. She tried to kill him once already and they're not even setting bail. A guy would at least have to make bail. And he'd have a restraining order against him. I'd be getting out of town if I were him.

@antleredman: Some readers already have Wacom pen input that could do just that.
