Fact still remains that it could have been pretty much anything and they chose a very visually and thematically boring thing to base it on. If they were going for a kind of mundane charm and some people like it, that's fine. I'm just not impressed. And dismissive cheezburger speak over the internet isn't going to

Meh, sentient toxic waste and magnetic amalgams at least have some thought to them. Even voltorb had the item encounter gimmick to give it something slightly interesting.

You'd prefer red maybe?

First thought - That's one bitchin Moebius drawing

Love the siren being less skimpy than the original.

This must be how normal guys feel when looking at cars.

Sounds like it could have be helped if the writers watched some quality shows tackle PST households, which sounds like more the ambiguous metaphor they were going for. Where it's not really anyone's fault, but there are still emotional and sometimes physical attributes that are unhealthy.

Sounds like Bruce Springsteen teamed up with Meatloaf.

Is this show worth watching if you aren't into the super sexy young sexy drama sexy CW style?

I forget why, but there was a time I spend a good three minutes thinking of more creative ways to expand the series.

Not counting 80s mainstays like Freddy and Jason. Your mileage may vary, but they were still at least treading water at that point.

I heard they used a male simply because it was bigger and thus easier and more impressive to see on screen.

Yeah, on the commentary one of the writers recounts a similar story, thus the reference.

Dunno. Chronicle was not entirely unlike Carrie. Though Chronicle definitely pushed the science fiction angle while Carrie chose the blood of horror.

Yeah, TVtropes actually has a whole page named after the quote up there. Most zombie moves that aren't playing it tongue in cheek never use the word either. The whole idea that their world has never heard of zombies makes it all seem more unknown and scary. And having a variety of words to describe them just makes
