I’ve learned to call ahead and order a full pizza (or two) for said reasons.

Always have the $20 tucked in between your ID/credit card when checking in. Most times it will work, unless a manager is nearby. Even then, the employee checking you in will give thanks and say how they cannot take it while handing it back to you.
