Unless the museum upgrade itself is optional within the context of the update (which is possible, but unlikely), I’m now stuck with an awkwardly balanced museum.

Why would you complain about having more things to do? It’s not like the game is forcing you to do it, just like almost everything in acnh, it’s completely optional. 

I am psyched to see the beautiful new museum space with an art wing added. My dinosaur wing is almost complete (the fossil randomizer has really gone my way this game and I only have 8 fossils left to find), so having a new unpredictable space to fill is going to be awesome.

It sounds like Leif & Redd are here to stay. I don’t know about Cyrus & Reese, since you can do crafting & customizing on your own now.
