Honestly one of the best responses I’ve ever read on Kinja.
For some, the change comes across as Blevins censoring himself, or being fake. Many of the top responses to Blevins’ May 2018 Twitter announcement are surprisingly negative.
I mean this is what I responded to you with initially.
You can’t selectively choose part of what I said and leave out the context.
Please follow the thread if you’re going to respond.
In the context of this discussion, that’s irrelevant though.
I commented the following to someone else, but it’s applicable to you too.
4k 60fps is still only available for the very high end market right now, it’s certainly not anywhere close to the norm with what we have currently.
Otherwise higher is always better and i’m sorry but sub 30 isn’t even worth playing
The Demon driver got the better reaction off the line, but it didn’t sound like he got a good launch. You can hear him throttling the gas for traction.
It’s very noticeable when the camera pans. Here’s a vid comparing Mario Sunshine at 30 and 60fps; at first it doesn’t seem all that different, then you see Mario jumping repeatedly and start to notice the background is a lot smoother at 60 instead of the blurry and choppy mess at 30.
I responded to what she spent 90% of the article writing about, instead of literally 2 sentences out of the entire article about HDR. I would call that a good summary, actually.
I 100% the game with every collectible and played about 80% of it docked on a 55" TV. I do have some experience with it.
Never really been a Donkey Kong or 2D side scroller guy until I played Tropical freeze on Wii U. What a fun challenge, super difficult but I never really felt cheated when I died (over and over and over and over...), just that I need to do a tiny bit better. Beautiful game too.
I don’t disagree at all, a stable 30 is preferable to a fluctuating sometimes 60.
Fair point.
I get what you and Heather are saying, framerate can be part of the art style and all. I just didn’t know of a game that was designed like that.
“Ruined” certainly seems rather dramatic. And it’s dynamic 900p docked.
Really? Neat.
