Dallas Raines the Meteorologist?

My guess is Dallas Raines and his crew out of Long Beach.

Im gonna have to agree to disagree. I drove one on a track (admittedly immediately after a 458) and came away deeply disappointed. It’s fast, but that’s it. The Z I had at the time was more engaging. Lol my SOHC Civic with an intake is more engaging. Felt like watching a YT track video on mute. And it was so big, but

Am I the only one who hate’s these ugly behemoths? I don’t care what their capable of, their atrociously offensive looking and the size of a Rolls Royce.

Pardon my ignorance but wouldn’t this make him the first driver to die of his injuries sustained in an F1 race since senna?

Have we checked all the usual suspects?

If it were L.A., I’d say check the ports and flood canals. This smells like Randall “Memphis” Raines. Also keep your eyes on all of your 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500s. They might have Eleanor on their list

You missed my point. I view the Maserati as a cousin to the Ferrari brand given the engine development ties, sound, etc. don't mean to imply they should be compared to ferraris. Just that for a sedan our coupe, there are Ferrari like elements that keep Maseratis from being boring in my opinion.

Clearly, the important thing is that you’ve found a way to feel superior to both Corvette drivers and Porsche drivers.

I moved to SF in 2012 from Australia and picked up a 997.2 C4S. I’m not a prick, it’s just 1/3rd of the price the same car is in Australia and if I move back I’d regret never experiencing it. Cars in the US are so ridiculously cheap.

If part of your decision is driven by your wish to be unique, you probably won’t enjoy your decision. The base 911 is simply an INCREDIBLE daily driver, which is how you’d be using it 95% of the time. The fully loaded Corvette will feel superior 5% of the time when you approach the limits of these cars.

Overly defensive and douchey bragging at the same time? Check.

The fact that you would assume someone is a “prick” based solely on what they drives suggests you are simply jealous. Also, if you actually had the money to buy one cash you would, or buy one similar. Having money and having the freedom to buy a car like this are two entirely different things.

I’m near Detroit. The Porsche blends right in. Maybe you get a small “O money vibe”, where as a Corvette is every 50 year old fat balding white guy midlife crisis rolling down the street.

If you buy your car based solely on what other people think of you, you’re buying it for the wrong reasons. Forget what people think and just buy what you actually want.

Come to Iowa. The land of 1,000 C7s. All driven by old dudes doing 50 in a 55.

Eh...not really. 911 ownership is generally pretty damn cheap, except for tires. Which would also be the case with the Z06

My reaction to seeing a Porsche is also an almost instant “oh look, another prick”.

That’s funny because when I see vettes around here, and I sure see a LOT of vettes, i can’t help but think “Damn, that 45 year old guy’s gold chain is really shiny.”

I think that’s his point.
Just go with the easy boring choice instead of the potentially troublesome and expensive one.
