I gotta say, my last partner was hung like this. It was not nearly as fun as it sounds. Acrobatic maneuvers were always off the menu. *wince*

If my partner and I have a kid, we'll do this too. The only reason: I associate my last name with painful things (my family was quite toxic) and I don't feel the need to pass it on to anyone. *shrug* I keep my surname, though; I'm too lazy to go through the name-change rigamarole, and I have a doctorate. *double shrug*
I was a bit surprised to read that. Rory and Connor?? Whoa. Good for them.
I have a doctorate; I also see death regularly (hospital work). When I had cable, I was on this show like white on rice. It really helps you when you want to go mindless; for years I wouldn't watch stressful movies, only feel-good stuff. I get enough real-life stress at work.
I have heard actors say that it is actually quite easy to stay out of the spotlight (granted, if you're Will and Kate maybe not so much). This whining smacks of so much bullshit to me. There are many celebrities you never see in the tabloids.
Self-comment, since I can't seem to edit-to-add: I think my experience just supports the idea that men aren't harshly criticized for voicing their problems, the way women are.
This is purely anecdotal data, but I work in healthcare and I see men and women who undergo the exact same procedures. Again, just my experience, but men can WHINE ABOUT THAT SHIT all day long. A lot of women just get up and roll with it.
I trained for an ironman last year. It is totally an addition, and it has been known to interfere with families. I don't have kids and my partner is a cyclist, and those are the only reasons I got through it sanely. By the end I totally resented it and had some classic "I hate ironman" rants.
Hm. This selfie discussion is food for thought. A group of running friends and I (all over 30) regularly post pics we've taken of ourselves on runs. We live in different parts of the country now, and I get a kick out of seeing them cruising through their environs (Alaska, Hawaii, etc). I never thought of it as a…
I don't know the extent of her tumor but it involves the brain; people with this diagnosis tend to be cognitively impaired on some level. I work on an oncology unit. As others have said, her husband would likely be the first to know, not because of any shadiness but because she gave clearance for it. She also may have…
I was thinking the same thing. How is it she seems to be pulling it* off lately?
Agree 100%. It's hard for me to listen to a band that knowingly took a name like this.
Count me in. I hate Seinfeld. I was nodding along reading this as well.
That is hilarity. Gave me smoker's cough.
When I got measured at Nordstrom's I went from 34B to 32C. I pretty much had this same reaction.
Yup yup yup. This stank of Pick Up Artist to me.
Yes. I think this is my favorite gif of all time.
Thanks for clearing that up.
In the words of a very wise woman I know, it's a bit late to play the parent now. In addition, "because he's your father" is not a valid argument. (Ever notice, it's always made by people who have no idea what it's like to have been abandoned/abused?) If you will regret not hearing him out, have coffee or something.…
Excellent essay! It is quite difficult to be emotionally caring, for hours on end per day, with strangers who are acting out (through no fault of their own). Sometimes when I get home from the hospital I'm so drained I cannot do anything but eat and mindlessly stare at the tv. It took my partner a long time to…
