Ah, the old, “Well, we used to do it this way” reasoning.  My retort is always, “Yeah, well we used to ride horses everywhere. We used to have polio. And we used to paint our houses with lead but we don’t do THAT shit anymore, do we?” They usually shut up after that.

In response to 2), my office operates in a very similar manner. “Well that’s how it was done in my day.” I’m pretty sure hazing the new mom at work is a hideous workplace ritual that happens everywhere and is usually, unfortunately, perpetuated by other women.

Yeah, those Prop. 65 warnings totally backfired.  They’re on everything everywhere to the point that they’re meaningless.

I think it’s probably from talc being in the makeup. Talc and asbestos form together in nature.

And the fact that she’s a ‘social media expert’ kind of proves she knew what she was doing.

Instead of letting someone - god forbid - eat during their break because - people need food - and instead SHAME them on social media in a mocking way, fuck no should she get the book deal back. She showed her colors all over the internet as a snotty jerk trying to mock an employee who ate on their break.

Tynes stands to lose income, reputation, and earning potential. The woman whose photo Tynes tweeted stood to lose the same things — and if that worker was working poor (which wouldn’t be surprising though we can only speculate), she might have lost more in relative terms and be left with far less in absolute terms.

Tynes ruined her own reputation. She could have used official complaint channels but instead wanted to put the worker on blast with social media and it backfired.

It’s very pricey to Aus! I did give that a go, and shipping cost more than the 10 lip balms I was bulk buying ... it was hard to justify the cost.

Not in Aus, sadly!

Sadly we can’t get Ulta shipped to Aus without spending some serious $$$ on the delivery :(

anyone who tans and doesn’t burn.

I bought a foundation there and came back the next day to exchange it for the next shade down. The cashier analyzed the one I was returning like she was in the CSI lab. She literally took off the pump, looked inside tilted it from side to side to see how much I used in the 24hrs since I’d bought it.

I’ve never been treated poorly in Sephora, but cannot stomach their sales people riding my ass throughout the store. They nip at my heels until I’m seething. Every visit ends in “Fuck this, where’s the nearest Ulta?”

I do makeup. I spend a metric fuckton on makeup. All different shades. Sephora and mac are on my list of places to not go to. I’ve been shamed in both places for my makeup skills (I wasn’t wearing any either time) and was called ugly in mac. Neither time was I looking for assistance. The cashier in Sephora was also

I don’t get the use of this image to illustrate this issue -- the word #ad is the first word, not to mention all the appropriate warning language. And, she regularly mentions getting Botox on her show, so... Your issue is with celebrity spokespeople? Or advertising in general? Or... I get that this generates clicks

Golly, that can’t be true! Jehovah made them wealthy, after all! /sarcasmgasm

Or Chico?

She checked in w/ her parents when she realized she had been cut off from their money.

Yeah my thought was that if you can’t get into a Cal State school then you truly don’t belong at any school. I know people with 1/1000th of the privilege and, it pains me to say this, 1/10th of the intellect, and even they were able to get into the CSU system.
