I'm fine with escalators, but elevators...well, Final Destination 2. Plus not being able to escape.

It’s gobsmacking isn’t it?
He was definitely the creepiest villain on The X-Files that I can remember. A lot of that had to do with the fact that I am extremely claustrophobic, so seeing him go through all of those tight spaces wigged me out. And that death, yeesh.
As the mother of a 16 year old, I find the fact that kids that young are legally allowed to marry full grown-ass adults abhorrent. All of this is deeply sad.
Good thing Eugene Victor Tooms’ creepiness wasn’t sexual.
Just one of the many hypocritical stances they take.
Well, you’re talking about a group that contains members think that contraception IS abortion, and another (probably overlapping) subset that would prefer the little ladies crank out a litter of kids and stay home/out of the workplace to take care of them.
Reliable birth control is so important and should be available for free for anyone who wants it. It seems like something conservatives should agree with, since effective birth control also prevents abortions, but they don’t often find that convincing.
Barbara Ehrenreich makes the exact same point as you in Nickel and Dimed (p. 202),
Not to be judgmental, but I’ve never met a smart MBA. They’re always full of shit.
I heard one restauranteur that moaned about applicants who never showed up for interviews, or were offered the job but ghosted, and blamed it on people fulfilling unemployment benefit requirements to search for jobs. Instead of taking that insight as an acknowledgment that unemployment benefit requirements are very…

Impressive! I know how to knit, but I can't wrap my head around crocheting. Where are the loops?!
That bread! Those air holes! Divine!
I made Israeli hummus, baharat-spiced beef, and a no-knead Iraqi flat bread called “laffa”, and had that for lunch 3 days this week. I also made golubtsi (Ukranian cabbage rolls), but I hate pork and didn’t enjoy it. I made a no-mayo coleslaw that went fabulous with both dishes, and gave something much needed to the…
Hey kitty cats! I’m back in western Panama after a few days in Panama City. It was me, The Bartender, and a few friends, and it was fun hanging out in a big city instead of the little mountain town where we all live. We boarded the Terribly Behaved Puppy and had a cat sitter come to our apartment. The cat-sitter…
Congratulations!!! I bought a decent used car a few years ago, and it was a moment that I felt super proud of. Enjoy your new ride!!
I have a new neighbor directly below me who moved in last night. My previous neighbor there had lived there for 16 years. He was a great neighbor, although as a person he was a bit annoying. He was super quiet, which is good since this place has a thin floor. The most noise he ever made was once in a while he’d crank…
I am fortunate to have great neighbors right now. I think my favorite loud neighbor was probably the couple who lived below me when I lived on the top floor of an apartment building. I shit you not, they watched the Titanic once a week (on fucking Tuesday nights) and they played it at full volume in their bedroom…
