Clearly the Air Force is simply intent on Winning by any means necessary.

So romantic.

I'm curious if the camera takes good pictures. Sure, they'll be 3D, but it means nothing unless they're of a high quality. I look forward to upcoming reviews. :)

I am also guessing there's a risk of the smoke being irradiated. Though, the level of radiation may only be slightly higher than previous smoke from the facility. Still, until we can confirm the point of origin, there really is a wide range of possibilities as far as the level of radiation in the plume.

You see, I am skeptical about that. TEPCO has often known what is going on but only informed the Prime Minister's office and the media hours later. This was shown with the previous explosions at the plant and various times when steam was coming out and the media reported they weren't sure what it was coming from.

Isn't this just them venting Reactor 3 like they said they would need to this weekend?

ha. Thanks, HTVA.

haha. I was not paying attention in high school to energy physics in kindergarten.

@dirtlamb5: You're absolutely correct. The moon naturally looks bigger near the horizon thanks to an optical illusion, and with the "super moon" effect, it makes it even larger than ever. Plus pollution or simply dust in the air can account for that coloration.

@Interstella5555: haha. Once we figure out how to convert energy into matter on a mass scale instead of the other way around, maybe we'll start considering a Dyson sphere. ;)

@DeLarge: And most proceeds go to Japanese relief funds. :D

I really don't know how the Japanese Cabinet representative can regard 1 successful drop of water out of 4 a "successful operation". They would probably need some 100 dead on shots to have a chance at having enough water for just the pool in Unit 4.

I've found Twitter to be pretty unreliable, as even popular things have often been wrong. Some Twitter of official news outlets are alright, but it just lacks credulity with me. I think it can lead to a lot of unnecessary worry. But, hey, following the right news outlets, it's pretty useful.

@truthtellah: lol. I have a feeling that may have influenced more answers than just the one about gravity...

@bigrigross: heh. I wish I would get paid for encouraging seriousness without panic, but alas, that simply isn't the case.

@UnderLoK: I have never ventured to downplay this disaster. On the contrary, I worked to discredit that false MIT article yesterday which had alleged there was nothing to worry about. There certainly -are- things to worry about with this crisis; of that, I have no doubt.

@taoprophet420: We have definitely already seen what a massive amount of Cesium released into the environment can do, but with this kind of plant, that just isn't going to happen. Chernobyl was catastrophic and caused radioactive material to cover a large area. This, on the other hand, would be a disaster, but not a

ah. Makes sense.

Yeah, definitely a lot of speculation. I have mainly focused on the BBC and the NHK live feed. Good resources for the latest news.
