The plaid seats are *the best* and I wish VW offered their fancier leather seats with a plaid option (since only the middle panels are plaid).

It’s a luxury car and part of what you pay for is that wow factor. If you just want a fast hatchback the Golf R and a chip is probably a smarter buy, you know?
The hot hatch market sums it up pretty well: nobody with $60k in their pocket wants something described as a “hot hatch”.
I’d definitely prefer this car in hatchback form if it was my money on the line, but it’s probably going to cost at least $60,000 or so.
You can JB4 the M235i, and the N55 engine is underrated by BMW. People are putting 305hp down at the wheels bone stock. With a 15% drivetrain loss that means the M235i is somewhere around 360hp at the crank.

It's almost certainly worth an occasional $124 ticket if it saves you time on your commute. In California I've seen HOV fines at $491, which makes that a different proposition.
