I don't actually mind the coverage, it was just funny to me that after all of the "new iOS features!" article we got another.

Nah, people were pretty vocal about iOS 7 getting really stable around beta 4.

I had no problems jumping on beta 5 of iOS 7 (early August, about two months before release of iOS 7) through a friend's developer account, but I'm in no hurry to do the same for iOS 8 until people say it's stable.

That's kind of worst case, and I own a bicycle and do ride it. I'm a hockey player / coach though and have bad knees so I don't ride as often as I'd like.
