LEGACY!

Ughh Montez, you didn't even pronounce "época" correctly.

Ah yes. The lines that strike me the most are:

I rarely see "Sweet Bird" mentioned among Joni's deep cuts, but it's an almost unbearably sad and beautiful track.

I think that's definitely a correct interpretation, and I agree, the song is beautifully written but it's meaning is pretty discernible.

And Bjork's! She's spoken of Don Juan's Reckless Daughter as her favorite album of all time.

Love everything on Hejira. One song from Court and Spark I don't see getting as much love is Down to You - it's absolutely devastating, and the arrangements are beautiful

Such good choices. The title Track from Hejira is just stunning - the perfect summary of the album's lyrical and musical content. And the Boho Dance is a clear standout from the Hissing of Summer Lawns. Such power in her voice and nuanced songwriting.

Maybe they were referring to the fact that pizza is often served folded like a sandwich from street carts in Italy? Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt here…

I was tempted to mention Miyazaki, but I also feel like his art has shaped me more than meeting some pre-existing sensibilities

Liz Phair's Girlysound tapes. Hardly anyone knows them at this point, and the lo-fi production and direct lyrics make it feel like a much more personal endeavor

The fact that Spirited Away is the only Ghibli film to win is evidence enough of that for me. I guess they never forgave Miyazaki for ditching the ceremony.

Exactly - manipulative is definitely how I'd describe it. We don't know these characters at all, so instead we're shown generic images that suggest love and pain as a stand-in for actual character development.

I think Vanessa Bayer's impression of Rachel on SNL sums up Friends' approach to kids the best: when Michael says "Oh, you have a baby?", she says "Oh yeah, sometimes."

It's definitely the alien for me.

Come to think of it, Ross from Friends totally qualifies. He makes having a son look like the easiest thing in the world - visit him twice a year and bust out an armadillo costume and you're good to go.

As Told by Ginger. The dynamic between the Foutleys' real father and the responsible and attentive Dr. Dave is really interesting, particularly for Carl, who resents his dad enough to take to Dave almost instantly.

Dude, Skeleton Head is probably my favorite DP song. It's a shame they don't perform it live, but I guess it would disrupt the momentum of their show.

If this is true, I volunteer to be Candace's victim

See, Scary Movie 3 was my first and has always been my favorite.
