my mom was a drug addict off and on throughout her life and finally committed suicide by o.d.ing a few year ago. and then last year, my brother died from a heroin overdose. she was the daughter of horrible alcoholics too, both of her parents. it's strange how some kids who grow up with addiction follow the same path…

you know that a lot of people who grew up with addicted parents often become addicts themselves, that's a given. but to actually almost die in the exact same way your parent died, is beyond tragic. i just hope she can get well. i think maybe she doesn't have a lot of good people around her.
