Someone suggested they do it like hockey. Play continues, the review is made and if a correction is necessary it is awarded at the next deadball or whatever.

Pretty sure that no one was on your lawn, sir.
I’ll defend the refs on this one. The linesman on the far side, whose call this really is, probably has his view of the ball blocked by the goalie’s body. The center referee is half a field away and, from his terrible distance and angle, and with his eyes being at 5 feet off the ground instead of 30 like the camera,…
I somehow doubt this is the first time. Landlords rarely act rashly, they like having the legal upper hand.
“I could buy this house, I don’t fucking need you.”
Apartments have noise restrictions, sounds like he didn’t read his lease.
I used to know the answer to this.
But you’re kidding yourself if you don’t think people said the same thing about the Beasties. Hell, the Beasties have said that they made obnoxious shit without real thought towards what they were saying.
Reading through a lot of your comments, it seems that your mouth has a tendency to write checks that your knowledge can’t cash. In other words, you don’t seem to know quite as much as you seem to think you do. You seem deeply certain about, well, pretty much everything; but nobody is an expert in everything. You’re…
...well, I don’t remember many people dancing to stuff like “Stan”. More grabbing bottles of hard liqour and trying to drink the images away.
2 things:
Italians have been making pasta since ancient times. Noodles in China and the Mediterranean were invented in isolation from one another, and the method for producing both are significantly different.
So its really damned if you do, damned if you don’t kind of thing? If you are white dont make music in any style that isn’t the whitest of the white?
Who gets to decide what’s considered crappy or deserving of success, though? That’s the argument JustUsBabe seems to be making. The article seems to say it’s okay when Amy Winehouse did it because the author liked her music. She doesn’t like Meghan Trainor, though, so it’s wrong and she doesn’t deserve success. It’s…
Every group gets copied. If a non-Italian creates a food inspired by pasta that’s neither stealing nor paying tribute. It’s just building on something that’s widely available. Anyone should be able to take a thing and build on it regardless of it’s origin. Borrowing from other cultures has led to significant amounts…
Also not denying appropriation. But I thought dropping g’s was typical of all US accents. I’m probably going to start paying a lot more attention now.
Potentially dumb question: I see Macklemore referenced when discussing white appropriation of traditional rap/hip-hop. (Does seem ultra not cool/suspicious that he wins Best Rap Album over Kendrick Lamar.) Is the appropriation due to the genre, or does he have the same “voice” problem as Iggy and Trainor?
I ask…
Actually it’s pretty well known within the world of “Creative”/art that a lot of things are taking existing ideas and taking them in different directions, combining things, etc. It’s actually really rare for things to be completely and utterly new.
So, the crux of your argument is that if the music is “bad” (as judged by you and/or others...) then the artist is not allowed to draw from black influences or explore black sound... because it’s appropriating black culture to sell “bad music”
Without pictures, I honestly would have a hard time identifying the race/nationality of many singers. I don’t really care though. Most of the time I’m only interested in the music and not so much the people making it.
