I think it’s about a train.

I somehow missed that Guy Ritchie was directing this. That makes it even more depressing.

Right. I was pretty sure Jon wasn’t going to be king but the central mystery of the show, the very reason D+D were picked to be showrunners no less, should amount to more than what it did.

RIP the child cannibal king in the north.

I like that a whole lot.

I agree, and I think that’s what makes her turn so jarring for better and for worse. We wouldn’t care about her massacring civilians if she was already purely evil.

I maintain that Selyse will end up burning Shireen at the Wall because a. she’s way more fanatical about the lord of light than Stannis and b. that’s where Melisandre is. So Shireen will burn, Stannis will lose eventually (maybe to the Boltons, maybe to Young Griff, maybe even to Dany) but a lot of movement would have

It wiped out the Umbers and a few secondary characters we liked.

Man, people really love handwaving away anything that doesn’t make sense with the “subverting expectations” line.

I guess normal would be where the were under Mancini/Pelligrini - good, sometimes great but not the world-eating force they seem to be under Pep. Basically Chelsea with less drama.

It accepted bastards and broken people for centuries and centuries before the Targaryens came along and united the kingdoms, I’m sure the North will be alright with doing it again.

Tormund was trying to have an anchor baby with Brienne.

I imagine Stannis is still going to meet his end in the North, but I really hope it’s more consequential than what he got in the show.

It’s highly unlikely Jon stays dead, but I do expect that his death has more of an effect on him in the books than it did in the show. I also expect the whole “Jon wargs into Ghost as he’s dying” theory ends up more or less being true.

That’s patently false.

Right. Pep will get bored in a year or two and move on like he has in his previous stops, then things will go back to normal.

Pep’s teams are boring, though. They’re objectively great, but they’re boring. I loathe Liverpool, but they’re way more exciting to watch.

Jon isn’t impervious to fire.

The Knicks’ and Lakers’ loud, flamboyant incompetence almost makes me appreciate the Bulls’ quiet, meatheaded-yet-understated incompetence.

Yeah, I agree. I don’t think we lost much by cutting her out.
