This makes me nostalgic for the late 2000s/early 2010s, when I was an earnest young man reading every basketblog I came across and debating the MVP merits of DRose/LeBron/Dwight. I feel old and bummed out.

I just recently got into her music, but I like it very much. I’ve liked the songs she’s released for this album thus far.
Patchface has seen things, man.
Yeah, it’s one of the dwindling number of holdouts on Southport that hasn’t been turned into a bank branch or a high-end retail store.
It’s funny you mention the pranks, because I remember that being “a thing” there, too. I have to assume it was an alternative to drinking/dancing/banging/whatever. Like you, I’m not a psychologist, so I won’t attempt to do any deeper digging, but it’s a weird, somewhat insular school.
Nice, I lived two blocks away from there until about a month ago. I love that place.
Toons in Chicago, on Southport?
My high school swim team practiced at Wheaton College because we didn’t have a pool, and I always felt uncomfortable there. Not like, “in immediate danger” uncomfortable but “I’m an outsider and don’t feel totally welcome here” uncomfortable. The students were generally friendly, but also very religious. I could see…
Grocery stores were about the only place in Wheaton you could buy alcohol until a few years ago. It was a pleasant, boring place to grow up, but it’s a sort of a weird town.
If I’m not mistaken, Alex Smith used a variation of this play way back in his college days at Utah. It was definitely a part of Urban Meyer’s offense at Utah and Florida (with Tebow, Harvin, and Hernandez).
Lebowski may well be my favorite movie of all time, but O Brother is real close as far as belly laughs go.
I can’t not pronounce “sirens” as “sireens” anymore.
Man, both are good but I kinda lean towards Spike Jonze in Three Kings.
O Brother Where Art Thou isn’t their most substantial movie, but it’s among their most fun for sure. In my book, that counts for something.
All the stars are here!
The Moth Joke is my favorite bit of comedy of all time. It’s the platonic ideal of comedy in my eyes.
I’ve been going through the old Chelsea Wolfe albums in anticipation of her new album. The songs released so far from the new one sound good.
I have a lot of hot Beatles-related takes, but my spiciest is probably that I like All Things Must Pass better than any actual Beatles album.
Maybe Tom Morello and the fellas should consider making a concept album about an astral-projecting paraplegic whose soul enters Rasputin’s body.
There really oughta be more Danzig-related humor around these parts.
