I think I understand the point you're trying to make and I still disagree. The starting prices of either automobile was, literally, a class apart. Potential NSX drivers simply moved on to another quasi-exotic. E.g. Carrera, M{3, 5, 6}, AMG.

....what? Maybe in a CFO's spreadsheet, but a FR 4cyl with a high rev limit compared to a MR 6cyl with a high rev limit are more than a few excel rows apart. No, I have not driven an NSX, but I've been around more than few at WOT. Noise alone, they're in different worlds, my friend.
Great story! And kudos to you and everyone like you who adopts over buying! You're a good man!
The arithmetic is true, but it's not that simple. Although x is the maximum with grip, it's also the maximum allowable which will lead the driver to control the placement of the car (ie. the purpose of grip). Sliding through the corner is faster (x + 1), but it may place the car in a non-ideal location for any…
Please explain! I want streams! I don't mind paying either!
Whoa, that's counter intuitive. I'll have to ponder that. Not that I'll ever be in the financial situation to benefit from the knowledge :-).
So it sounds like the obvious answer is, "leave the traction control on, dummy". I fully agree.
I'm not a pro or even a pretend-pro driver. That said, would brakes have helped at all? He would have needed braking control of individual wheels to do any good, no?
Pics or it didn't happen.
A good summer tire on my 335 costs about as much as the craptastic all season tire that came on my Camry.
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! COTD!
Well put. Nothing but respect for Corbin and all backyard, dyed and wool (yes, I said it), hoonaholics.

Kaiser Permanente in California doesn't prescribe drugs its pharmacy cannot fulfill. Or so I was led to believe by one of their representatives when I was shopping for coverage.
Wouldn't that be funny; a train conductor reading a car blog.
+1
The M5 may be long in the tooth, but I surmise it's probably the one with the most longevity in terms of durability and maintainability. Are there any known major defects in that S60 engine or drivetrain? I'd say that's a nice price for a workhorse of a monster machine.
To be fair, he could probably buy himself another if his first was scrapped.
I see what you did there. Clever.
