Joe Paterno literally got an English degree from an Ivy League institution. The idea that he was too stupid or too consumed by football to know what the word “sodomy” meant is beyond incredible. It’s not even a lie insomuch as it is a flatly inconceivable alternate world.

That’s why you have mental health professionals or fit, trained psychologists in the world to handle those kind of problems. We do this thing sometimes when a crisis happens, when we suddenly expect our leaders to be skilled at absolutely every job under the sun.
