Pretty sure when I started voting (CA) we had electronic touchscreen voting booths. We’re back to paper ballots around here (except for voters with disabilities).

It’s done by machines that are not connected to the internet, and which save the results on paper, on memory cards, and of course on the actual paper ballots. Once the final tallies are transferred to computers with internet, I have no idea what happens, but they’d at least have numerous back-up records if something…
But it’s not how it works everywhere, just so you know. I’m working for the ROV and there are great lengths (I detailed them in a response to prollynot if you’re interested) they go to ensure the security of ballots. Also not true that volunteers or people with a few hours of training will ever tally/count/scan…
Yep, in California, our touchscreens also have a voter verified paper trail attached.
Why not vote by mail in California?
Those machines aren’t connected to the internet, though at some point I guess the information would be uploaded to a machine with internet. There should be paper trails for every kind of voting, however. Not sure if it’s impossible to hack but they go to great lengths to try to prevent it.
A touchscreen voting booth is required at every precinct in my area for accessibility for voters with disabilities and such. There’s a (securely stored) paper trail for these machines, though. (This isn’t for casino companies, as far as I know, just touchscreens in general.)
They may be counted by electronic systems (scanners), but it’s not necessarily a computer or anything connected to the internet. At some point, I guess, they’re probably submitted online, but there are definitely paper trails and memory cards well before that stage.
What state are you in? (and was your experience a long time ago?) I’m in California and working for the ROV (temporarily). It’s much more secure than how you’re describing and there are soo many steps in place to secure our ballots, from numerous security seals, to two-person rules (another person must observe),…
My vote is for “Silver Medal and Gold Ring for Chinese Diver Zi”
A lot of those were shown on the NBC coverage. Not sure if you were implying that they didn’t show these events, but in case you were. Although I don’t remember seeing sailing.
Honestly, just from your few posts in this thread, you come off as verbally abusive yourself (jumping right to personal attacks) so it doesn’t surprise me that counselors repeatedly sided against you. I’m not doubting that you were abused, but it seems like your own reactions aren’t in check (maybe even as a result of…
“But initially when this shit started happening, they were defending the argument TO THE GROUND that she never even spoke with Kanye, let alone ALLOWED the use of the line ‘I made that bitch famous’.”
Uh, ok. That’s cool for you to have your opinions about her, but don’t pretend that they’re facts or that they have anything to do with my point, which was that she’s offered plenty of roles in plenty of well received movies.
False. Not rare at all. No products, those of us with fine hair (who don’t dye it regularly to dry it out) need to wash out the oil every day. It’s not about “attracting dirt and oil” at all, it’s about producing oil from your scalp.
Does the sweat in your hair bother you at all?
Honestly, I know a lot of women who have proudly proclaimed that they only wash their hair once or twice a week, but their hair definitely gets greasy and even smelly but they don’t seem to notice/care. I know they can’t really see the back of their heads but it’s obvious.
Also, way to have zero defense for your shitty homophobic comments!

Surely you know what label is associated with saying “She doesn’t like boys” so I know I don’t need to explain that to you. And I’m not upset about it, I find it annoying and insensitive. Who are you to decide who her true self it?
