Anyone who disagrees with this is lying to themselves. I think there are hardcore gamers out there that don't realize that there are gamers out there that enjoy playing hardcore games but only every once in a while (as opposed to obsessively playing everyday. I call these gamers casual hardcore gamers)

I'm sure this guy violated a clause in his contract by admitting this publicly

I know he doesnt, and yet look at this trailer for Pacific Rim. Do you think this film was going to be a quiet study of the human condition? Get real. The movie is doing what it set out to do, being a loud action movie and a homage to vintage Japanese Tokusatsu genre. Let's stop pretending this movie isn't an action

I understand the distinction. I'm just big robo'd out. Plus I grew up on this kind of stuff, Big O type of anime in the 90s, so i'm especially worn out by this. I was hoping for something smaller and more thoughtful from Del Toro like Pan's Labyrinth, not something like this. Big O and Optimus are in the same

I never heard of this movie before Kotaku posted the trailer

What brilliant logic. Expressing an opinion that conflicts with yours is automatically a troll comment right?

please stop

Oh, the rocket elbow was powering up, I guess this isn't movie isn't in the same 'giant robot' genre that Transformers is in as well? And Yes, likewise.

yeah everyone who doesn't share your opinion should kill themselves right? What happened to Kotaku instituting a ban on children commenters?

Oh random internet guy doesn't believe me. What will I do?

Watch it again, and try paying attention this time.

I studied film in New York Film Academy. Didn't anyone tell you? The word butthurt is dead, and is only exclusively used by 12 year olds.

I'm not comparing the directors, I'm comparing the premise. The premise is tired. Also, so this movie won't be full of loud sound effects and explosions? So what is this, an art house drama?

this is not an argument.

Yeah, I know he is a superior director, but the premise of the movie is still the same. Giant robots fighting giant bad guys. I'm not impressed. As much as I like del Toro, it doesn't change the fact that the premise is tired to me.

Okay, so excessively loud garbage from a better director is supposed to change my mind about what I'm watching? I'll pass

Yeah I know who he is, I'm still not interested in this. Calling people morons doesn't really change minds brah

This bothers me. Dropping words like portal in the trailer then using the same voice actress? Never mind that, I've trashed the lame transformers movies for years so why should I like this? This appears to be the same type of excessively loud garbage

Yoshida has one of the most entertaining twitter accounts in the industry.

Amazing how much money it makes. Hard to call it a failure honestly
