Honestly, you shouldn't let that hold you back from playing it. Sure the graphics haven't aged well.. at this point people love it for its story and characters, not its graphics. I don't think good video games have expiration dates, same goes towards movies as well. There are scenes in James Cameron's Aliens film that

I believe the author of the article brought up Nier because they own the IP of Nier, even though they hired another team to develop it. RIP Cavia. Square can do whatever they want with Nier at this point, and indeed they have. Just a few months ago in Japan they had a concert of just Nier's music. It was live streamed

It's sad that Nier is finally getting the respect it deserves at this stage of the system's lifecycle. Especially tragic since Cavia as a development studio dissolved, probably having a lot to do with the fact that Nier didn't do the numbers it should have. For me, it's this generations Ico. Best game that went

I have to respectfully disagree. FF9 towers over FF7 in every conceivable way. It is Sakaguchi's favorite as well, and I have a lot of respect for that man.

Those are FF tenets

best game this generation

Am I the only FF7 fan that DOES NOT want a FF7 remake? Leave it alone, let sleeping dogs lie, seriously. FF7 is a franchise that has been milked to death by square (as requested by fans), and now that we've had a movie, several spinoffs, cell phone games, etc.. I think we've all had our thirsts quenched.

Exaggerating is the quickest way to lose ground in a debate, but if you want to get technical, there's been 8 updates in the past YEAR (That's a precise number), the most recent one being back in February. Not exactly a devastating amount, especially since they are becoming more infrequent.

So now I'm left wondering why Atlus or NIS didn't jump at the rights to localize this... or in a case of sweet irony.. Square Enix

It's disingenuous to say that there is a system update everytime you turn it on. This is only the case if you turn it on once every 6 months. So, this particular piece of misinformation is only perpetuated by people who game primarily on 360**, and only use their ps3 for the occasional exclusive. There was bout 2

The fact that you don't actively use a perfectly fine system is your fault and yours alone. There are definitely plenty of exclusives and games that run better on the PS3, particularly the ones where the PS3 was the lead platform during development.

Now playing

Neither the 360 or PS3 have a library as good as good as the PS2's. It's unfair to compare any system against it because of the amount of risk taking and innovation going on during that era. This generation will be defined by military first person shooters and HD remasters of PS2 games

To me a better question would be to you, and why you bought so many xbox's? Shit man, that's some hardcore brand loyalty. If I had that many PS3s break on me, I would have sworn off Sony forever

yeah because this was a deciding factor when gamers arrived at Best Buy and had trouble picking pick between 360 and PS3 /sarcasm

Are they REALLY third place? I still consider 360 to be first, and PS3 in second by a pretty small margin. YES, we all know Wii sold the most units, but an unsupported game system, poor 3rd party support, and oversaturation of shovelware has made the system dead for many gamers. Yeah everyone's got one, but I don't

Absolutely, the only downside is that the gaming experience can become less of a spectator activity. You can't have your friends come over and watch you play a new game or something.

People cringe at VR Headsets, but if You've ever tried it, they are amazing and immersive. I am still waiting for a consumer prototype that is affordable, non clunky and with head tracking. Imagine moving your head around to look in different directions, and then using something like a move controller to move your arm

Move forward not backward

This is why I never jumped on board with the 360, I don't see myself abandoning my ps3 until this happens (and it will never happen)
