Democratic primaries are not winner-take-all. Your vote for Warren still counts until and unless she’s been statistically eliminated.
I don’t understand why this is even a question after he signed the DNC loyalty pledge put before him.
Her shtick is that she’s competent and won’t rock the boat too much. I honestly couldn’t tell you which of them came up with “I’m a progressive who gets things done,” because it’s so on-brand for both of them.
Given that Bernie is where the Democrats should be spectrum wise, as opposed to practically being 80s era Reagan Republicans that are more vaguely more palatable to LGBTQ folk, and that Sanders regularly polls as more popular than any of them, maybe they should move more towards him instead of having their underwear…
My burner name isn’t “NewEnglandBestEngland” because I’m from Oregon. I spent most of my life--like 20 years of it--living in Massachusetts, and I only left to the Midwest like a year and a half ago. I am well aware that there are significant differences between Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont. But even…
What is with the whole “adjacent to [their] home state” narrative? I live in New York, but I couldn’t even tell you who Pennsylvania’s Senators are, or Vermont, Massachusetts, and New Jersey’s other Senators.
lol
Who? Bloomberg?
If you’re one of those folks who are STILL holding this against Bernie, despite the fact that he signed the DNC loyalty pledge that they baked up especially for him....can I ask why?
Why does it matter if he is registered as a Democrat?
When I said “she’s not done, you can still vote for her” they were like, “Oh...right. I can still vote for her.”
I think she’s basically Hillary Clinton without the whole “Bill Clinton” baggage. I don’t really get her appeal, but I don’t hate her. I just don’t see why anyone would actively choose her first.
being white
I do not understand the appeal of Amy Klobuchar like at all.
In fairness (to the people dismissing Warren), the primary we had was in a state adjacent to her “home” state, and a majority of the primary state’s population lives within the same media market as Warren’s “home” state. Her getting half as many votes as Amy Klobuchar is pretty damning. Warren should’ve enjoyed…
I agree. But if Biden steps aside, Bloomberg will just step right into that empty space.
You CAN force someone to go to and participate in therapy, though - like drug rehab, a judge can make “successful completion of an anger management course” part of a plea deal to avoid prison, for example.
I’ve always thought that a good solution would be to force the person who the restraining order is against to wear an ankle bracelet, like house arrest, and have a system where an alert goes to the person protected by the order whenever the guy is within the court mandated distance. It’s not a perfect solution as it…
Here’s the problem- there’s an old joke: How many therapists does it take to change a lightbulb? Only one, but the lightbulb has to want to change.
No, and honestly I don’t know how that could be mandated. You can’t force someone to go to therapy, and even if you could, you can’t force them to take it seriously or participate in a meaningful way. It’s terrible, but I don’t think that we have a solution other than helping women get away and stay safe when they…
I know in New Jersey, if a restraining order is a granted the judge can order counseling/anger management, etc., and they typically will. Not sure how it works in other states.
