I agree but i wouldn't call them lies. It's just that writers and producers of movies and TV shows don't understand or ignore the laws of physics or chemistry in order to create nice visuals.

But i like the idea of them existing. And i'm not the only one because fiction is crawling with mythological creatures.
It's the scientific method. You don't know unless it's is based on empirical or measurable evidence subject to specific principles of reasoning.
Atheism is also a religion because you can't prove that there's not God. You can only believe it not know it.
