I thought Schwimmer was effective in this episode too.
I WISH those ladies were my friends. They all seem like fun to hang out with.
The white trash neighbors played by Steve Zahn and Andrea Anders from last season were huge stereotypes but I laughed at them and felt no guilt because nobody gives a crap if rednecks are offended.
I've never heard of attraction to black women being considered a joke before in entertainment but if you say there are I'll take your word for it.
I don't think that's what the joke is but if you feel offended by it, I'm not going to talk you out of it.
It's weird that he's been doing her act for 25 years but was seen by mostly black audiences. Now that she's in the mainstream people are suddenly offended?
I want Kyle to tweet these women and go "Phil finds Black women desirable! Why aren't you more offended by that?!"
Judging from most of the Twitter comments from African Americans who watched the episode(especially women) they weren't that offended:
You have to see it. If just to hear the live "How Did This Get Made?" podcast with guest Damon Lindelof(LOST) taking it apart. It's hilarious.

Ugh, sorry. I posted an earlier link I copied by mistake. Thanks!
I love the story of when Ken Adam was working on the Bond movie THE SPY WHO LOVED ME. The cinematographer Claude Renoir's eyesight was failing and they couldn't figure out how to light the enormous interior of the supertanker set he designed. Adam calls up Kubrick who he just made BARRY LYNDON and asked him to look…
I love the score by Roy Budd.

Someone wrote a script for French Connection III where Doyle goes up against a "Carlos the Jackal" type terrorist. He also has a new partner, meant to be played by Richard Pryor. The script was rejected by Gene Hackman and turned into the movie NIGHTHAWKS with Sylvester Stallone and Rutger Hauer:
You're nuts.
One of the things that makes UNFORGIVEN great is seeing Dirty Harry face off against Popeye Doyle at the end:
I'm embarrassed that I didn't even know they were married until I read the interview. I knew she and Ted Danson are now but her and McDowell? Not a clue. Was she around when he was making CALIGULA?
Mary Steenburgen is somehow hotter now than when she was young. It's amazing.
