Chrome is a power hungry beast but on my HTPC it's better than IE. I use Plex also but it's much better using Plex/chrome than Plex/IE.

I don't know. I had one and it was a pain but I have a lot of lawn to deal with. The corded one's cord was always in my way (and yes, I mowed the right way to avoid running into it) but I just have a big yard and gas is much faster but I get what you're saying as far as actual mowing but also keep it inside in winter.

Same with anything gas powered such as leaf blower, snow blower (if warm weather approaching) but if you have a garage you frequent, just fire them up once a week and you'll also be good. I do that, just start them up every week or so and run until warm.
