I love how that AUSA has to start out, “I’ve been here for 16 years . . .” as if he wants everyone to understand the position Trump has put him in. And it’s clear from what he’s saying that he wants to be a million miles away from this case.

Former neighbor works as an interpreter for US officials. Because he is fluent in both Japanese and Mandarin, he gets quite a few gigs.

but as strong as Lucifer is on the casting front[...]

Yeah her thrill at excitement and at getting ‘her’ Lucifer back works but the way she approached it just felt off. In the past episodes she was incredibly skilled at reading people and socializing based on that read and that is just missing in this episode. It renders her very one-note and that note itself is off-key

Chloe the character and Lauren the actress have really brought it this season. My frustrations at how long she was in the dark for were sated this season made it all worthwhile. Does she know she was specifically created for Lucifer though.

The role reversal is nice.  Usually, if one member of a t.v. couple is a fashion plate, it’s the woman.  Lucifer is obviously the better dressed half of Deckerstar.  I can’t imagine Chloe even trying to compete with his lovely suits.

I'm loving this new season and really enjoying your reviews/perspective.  I finished this season early and it almost seems like a series finale. I hope it gets another season and a time jump!

I was most excited for this review because I think the Caleb stuff was potent. Like, yeah. Amenadiel’s bond with Caleb could’ve been stronger if it’d been introduced earlier in the season. But the acting and story still sell its impact on Amenadiel. The standoff between the police and Amenadiel was really well-done.

It’s a shade of him we rarely see in this show, but damn. The way Tom Ellis underplayed those scenes and let DB Woodside takes the spotlight was really great.

I think one of the strongest things about this season of Lucifer overall is that, aside from a couple of the murderers-of-the-week, nobody is really a mustache-twirling villain. Almost everybody has a valid point of view (or at least a valid complaint) and the carnage that they cause is largely a result of

I loved that what we have been told about Lucifer “tempting” Eve was really just him asking her what she really wanted.

I think the craziest thing about this show is the ability to have so much cheap fan service+sexploitation+shipping that just works beautifully and on all levels. Take note GoT!

Did anyone notice that the baby clothing store where Amenadiel is window shopping when he spots Remiel is called “Heaven’s Lil’ Cherub?”

It is really nice that Chloe’s “rival” for Lucifer’s affection appears to be a genuinely nice person whom everyone, including Chloe, likes. It’s a refreshing change from the typical rom com/ television drama story line where the rival either has to be an obviously terrible person or the rivals have to hate each other.

I didn’t like this episode as much because it felt like Eve’s characterization wasn’t the same as the past episodes with her. Yeah her thrill at excitement and at getting ‘her’ Lucifer back works but the way she approached it just felt off. In the past episodes she was incredibly skilled at reading people and

My favorite moment from this episode is the silent understanding between Lucifer and Amenadiel after Caleb was killed. Lucifer fully understands what his brother needs to do and is ready to help.

As in Maze’s mother, not Frasier’s ex-wife.

Oh, I want Tom Welling to be back for a guest stint just to see his Cain interact with Eve.

The day I stop smiling at the words “Quintessential Deckerstar” is the day my soul officially dies.

I know that nothing good will come of Eve being around long-term because that’s the sort of show this is, but DAMN, she’s a lot of fun to watch in action. The actress is extremely expressive and good at doing the playfully innocent yet seductive thing, which plays well off of Lucifer.
