Zandvoort was always pretty windy. Drivers used to hate it on windy days because of all the sand that would get blown onto the track (and into your eyes). Probably the worst single location for an F1 track ever....

That last corner, Arie Luydneuk
Had they raced, Verstappen would have been likely to win and therefore to close up more than he did with this result. Like him or not, he's very, very good in the rain (Hockenheim 2019, Interlagos 2016 spring to mind), and he would have had the huge advantage of actually being able to see where he was going.
They’d also have to get political permission with less than a day’s notice. I don’t know the exact rules, but obviously the organisers can’t just have a race whenever they feel like it. It’s Belgium, not Texas!
A Monday race was not an option, financially speaking. Masi tried to extend as far as possible, even going so far as to pause the event clock which is only allowed in extreme circumstances. Eventually he HAD to protect the event and make sure an official race result was given, or Spa’s promoter would’ve been in threat…
Then you have obviously not visited Belgium in the spring. That is the main attraction!
No. The drivers themselves did not want to run, due to wanting to live or something. If you like seeing F1 drivers crash you are a ghoul, not a fan.
That’s not how it works. You can finish outside the top 10 and still get credited with a fastest lap; you just won’t get the point that comes with it if you do finish in the top 10.
Shame that we couldn’t get a race. Regarding the points for qualifying rather than racing, going balls out yesterday is just as deserving of points as racing in the dry any other day. I’m very happy for George, Ricciardo, and Latifi.
It seems like we get bone dry races or the track gets completely flooded. Too bad we didn’t get to see any racing at one my favorite F1 tracks, but it was the right decision.
So many people out there tweeting and commenting after George got P2 “You don’t get points for saturday, though”.
There’s an article title I wouldn’t have expected this year. Russel’s P2 was on merit. He didn’t back into it and nobody handed it to him.
Vettel was a class act, stopping to check on Lando like that.
Vettel makes me like him more and more. It’s like his time at Ferrari was sucking the life out of him or something.
but, at least they KNOW what’s in ivermectin, and it’s approved by Doctors (ok, veterinarians) and has been for years, so it MUST be safe... right?
Mississippi has the second-lowest vaccination rate in the country; only Alabama has a lower rate. Folks are not taking the vaccine, but are taking this?
That trumps my TVR Tasmin suggestion for quirky wedges. Hey, don't I know you from somewhere?
Just because I haven’t seen it posted yet
We need the planes from the 5th Element. Everyone just gets knocked unconscious for the flight.
