In other racing series, it’s clear from the way they penalize drivers that their priority is protecting track workers and drivers. yeah the penalty makes there no incentive to avoid the crash. he should have hit him in hindsight. 

The real problem here is the inconsistency in how penalties are levied. Drivers make bad decisions all the time that take other drivers out of the race and it gets called a racing incident.

Drove one at a previous job. The rear door latch broke in a month. Even in perfect working order, they are just stupid to drive. The auto/manual trans wanders between gears and can’t make up its mind. They drive like an overgrown golf cart.
