Mr. Wonder is truly a great inspiration! I always remember seeing him playing, because he has this huge smile on his face, and that is what I think about when I try and write or play music.
It make take up more space horizontally, but being not as tall means that firetrucks & their ladders can better battle fires and help people escape.
@cale-cabbage: Canada has been involved with nuclear weapons for a long time...we produced most of the uranium used by the Manhattan Project. Chalk River Labs, and their NRX reactor were vital parts of the project. Eventually, it supplied plutonium to the US nuclear weapons program, and to the British nuclear…
This in many ways, is a good thing, as it will eventually invalidate the patents Big Agro has...eventually, all crops in the wild will end up with these genes, and no court Canada or the US will give Monsanto & their likes total ownership of all Canola crops, which will render their patents useless.
And don't forget his other life, as Dope MC...he's MC Hawking!
All of these examples actually have a name in Science Fiction fandom....they are called "Tuckerizations". From Wikipedia:
I saw the writeup of Sherwood, and thought automatically of Rocket Robin Hood!
@TheFu: Back in the day, we used to say that everyone should learn Wordstar as their secondary editor, as it was available on all systems (ie, PC-DOS, CP/M....). Now, on Unix systems, vi is the same. I think it sucks galactic muffins, but I can do all the basic tasks with vi. I much prefer Joe, or it's variant, JStar.…

@Delphinus100: So true! Science is a way of exploring the Universe, what we sometimes call "Laws" are actually just the best working Theories that we have.
@m_faustus: True...but "Burn Notice" is an excellent show, and Bruce is doing well in it!
Here's a of the beast!
Gerry Anderson may have done a flying sub, but the earlier, cooler flying sub, IMOHO, was the FS-1 from "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea"
@bookwench: Ever since Galileo, the RC Church and Science have been on diverging courses. This leaves us with the current situation. There are many SF writers who are Christian, but would never write anything set in a Christian milieu because that divergence would make them both reviled in the SF community, and…
@Meldrick: And worse, Crowley seen as the media of the day saw him. Today, he wouldn't even been considered eccentric...but back then, being openly bisexual, bragging about having lots of sex, partaking & advocating the use of drugs and doing Kabalistic Magick is not much different from certain public people…
From my own humble perspective...
@HK-47: I agree!!!! It took me forever to get a copy of "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" in widescreen format! You loose so much otherwise!
