I’ve literally been with Shitty Bank (aka Citibank) for 25 years, but I’ve never had to pay overdraft, ATM, or most of the other fees you speak of. The only fee I’ve ever paid was a $20 “maintenance fee” for allowing my average checking balance to fall below $10k a few times, and even that was removed if I bothered to

A minor inconvenience at best. 160 out of 193 countries have already implemented a VAT because it’s the most efficient way of generating revenue without LOOPHOLES! Megacorps and billionaires are experts at moving money around to evade taxes, but the VAT is unavoidable and FAIR.

Yes - YES to the consumption (VAT) tax. Andrew Yang is the only presidential candidate talking about it.

Wealth taxes don’t work. Everywhere they’ve been tried (in Europe mainly) they’ve failed to generate anywhere near the projected revenue, and have largely been repealed. Wealth taxes also incentivize all kinds of schemes to offshore and hide wealth, including couples getting divorced to stay below wealth thresholds.

Why would you assume that your grandmother wants to give a higher share to you and other relatives just for being closer? Is that what SHE wants to do? A final FU to the kids who didn’t call or visit enough?

Flushing, Queens. Apparently there’s a glut of asian dentists in the area, so there’s competition. Just do some Yelp research first to find the better ones.

$80 is all my dentist (in NYC) charges for X-rays & cleaning. I’ve been self-paying for dental, vision, flushots, and even health checkups for most of my life, because insurance in the US is STILL just too damn expensive, even when you’re making decent money. I’ve no doubt saved over $100,000 by being “lucky” enough

If you buy your glasses/contacts online, not all companies require an up-to-date renewed Rx. e.g.: WarbyParker does, but Zenni doesn’t. Overall cheaper online anyway.

4. Vote for Andrew Yang in 2020. A $1k/mo UBI will do more to reduce stress and save lives than almost anything else besides M4A.

Agreed. I’m grandfathered into the $8/mo account, and the ad-free YouTube has been a nice bonus, but I’ll probably be ditching Google Play Music for Spotify once they force everyone to switch to the hideous YouTube Music app for some reason.

No notification here either, and I’ve been using T-mobile’s $30/mo 5GB prepaid plan since 2013 IIRC.

$130 bucks for a dedicated turkey pan? No thanks - I think I’ll just stick with the 99cent aluminum pans on a baking sheet method. It’d take 130 years to break even.

And everyone knows why playgrounds are too safe: “I’m going to sue!”

Didn’t notice the 2011 date. A lot’s changed in 8 years, but I stand by my NAS.

The easiest way to share between different OS’ in a SOHO is to simply use a dedicated NAS storage box as your central server for common shares, rather than depending on all the various clients being able to share among themselves. Synology makes great RAID NAS’ that are easy to setup and admin via web. I started with

I also prefer crepe soles over most others, but you first need to pay extra for shoes with a goodyear welt in order for the sole to be easily replaceable, else it’s a disposable glue-on. The popular Vibram sole may be “better” and longer-lasting but it’s NOISY like dress shoes. Will be replacing my Redwing vibram

Pro-Tip #1: To drastically reduce how much you need to wipe in the first place, always spread your butt cheeks as far apart as you can stand before bombing away. Better to only have to clean the butthole than the brown snake smears too.

You should see me at parties! :) ... So... how many columns? And, could you have written a simple script in an hour or two to automate what took you 40+ hours by hand? I’m asking on behalf of your boss who’s looking to cut labor costs. /s

One week for 500 rows? So ~12 minutes per row? There’d better be way more than a dozen columns in those rows, and I’d hope it’s a kind of clean up that can’t easily be automated with a simple script, otherwise I can understand why no one’s applauding.
