But why would you still want inefficient bulbs that don’t last nearly as long as LED? (I mean why, other than just because you’re an old curmudgeon who doesn’t want the gubbermint telling him he can’t buy bulbs that seem cheaper... in the short run)

The perfect flashlight really depends on your intended use case (i.e. a large emergency backup, S&R, or a small EveryDayCarry), but as a decent all-arounder I’d recommend the Fenix LD22.

I can tell you one thing NOT to buy at the dollar store: Clear Packing Tape.

Yeah, and to be fair, even some stores (like amazon and bladehq) refuse to ship assisted-open knives to NY, just to play it safe, so I have to resort to ebay.

Assisted open isn’t illegal in nyc, but automatic switchblades still are. Some people choose to conflate the two to be on the lawyer-ish “safe side”, but they’re not the same (and no cop will or has ever cared).

This knife was almost impossible to get your hands on when it was released last year. I still want one, but the frenzy is over

This.

I’ve got one of these, but by no means would I call it an edc knife. The handle is too thick.

The important thing is that these BT buds support AptX, which means lossless audio quality vs the standard crappy re-compressed BT audio. Your phone ALSO needs to support AptX, though, which isn't always so easy to determine. (I'm running a custom ROM, and since AptX is proprietary, it's a no-go for me unless I want

Last summer I finally bought a new "golf-sized" umbrella in order to have enough room to cover two people on walks to school. The GustBuster was high on my list for its good reputation, but at $45, I balked, and instead bought a $20 RainStoppers 62" which actually reviews a bit better than GustBuster on Amazon.

Me, but probably not why you’d think.

Replaced my first toilet last year, and it was relatively easy. The hardest part was simply cutting through the old rusted & free-rotating anchor bolts with a hacksaw. Also used a rubber flange, instead of messy wax.

Generic Chapstick's good enough for me, and HALF the price for the same stuff. Bought some just the other day: TWO generic for $1.70 vs ONE Chapstick(TM) for $2. RiteAid store brand.

I need to renew my NY Public Library card before I can use Overdrive, but, yeah, I think I'll be using the "Smart Audio Book" app for android to play them, since it includes the speedup feature.

My 6 week free trial of Scribd is about to end, and you're right that it's a great middle ground. Unfortunately only their iOS app has a "playback speedup" feature, I only uses Android and Web, so I won't be subscribing.
